Working with me is easy:

1) Email me at daretha@live.com. Show me and/or tell me what you’d like me to copyedit or proofread. *

2) I will respond with a quote: my fee and when I’ll finish. If my workload happens to be heavy, I will work with a longtime editing partner. I will always review their work to make sure it meets my standards. **

3) If you want to work with me, I will email you a contract that requires an e-signature.

4) I will edit/proofread the document(s) and send them back to you. If it’s a PDF, I will highlight text and use the PDF’s comment feature. If it’s a Word document, I will work with Track Changes on. ***

5) I will send you an invoice. I accept Zelle, PayPal, Venmo, personal checks, and other forms of payment. I do not take credit cards.

* I typically don’t take on projects that need heavy editing, though I can refer you to editors who do.

** If you’re a new client and/or this is a big project, I can provide you with a free sample edit.

*** If you despise Track Changes, I would send you a clean edited Word document along with a PDF that shows all the changes I made.
