Award-Winning
Book Editor and Author
David Aretha has edited thousands of documents for businesses, nonprofits, universities, law firms, and other organizations. He has also edited hundreds of articles for newspapers, magazines, and websites.
Most notably, David is an award-winning book editor and author whose books have appeared on The Today Show, CBS Early Show, NPR, and MSNBC. In his 30-plus years in publishing, David has authored more than 90 books (mostly juvenile nonfiction) and edited several hundred books and manuscripts for dozens of publishers, including Random House, Scholastic, Wiley, St. Martin’s, and HarperCollins.

The books David has written and edited have sold in excess of $20 million and have garnered more than 20 awards. David is the only book editor officially endorsed by the Independent Book Publishers Association, as approved by their Board of Directors.
Born and raised in suburban Detroit, and a graduate of the University of Michigan, David still roots for his childhood teams: the Tigers, Lions, and Michigan Wolverines. David and his wife Shannon raised two boys in the Chicago area. In his free time, he swims, writes for a Chicago theater group, enjoys walks in a nearby forest preserve, and loves playing with their spunky Maltese/Yorkie, Augustus—aka Mighty Gus.
