Write to be
understood, speak to
be heard, read to
grow.
Lawrence Clark Powell

Did you know that it is extremely difficult to edit your own written work - check for errors, inconsistencies, missing words, grammar and so on? When reading, your eyes tend to complete the words of the text that you are looking at, and your mind automaticaly corrects any errors there may be in the text. The result is that your work remains sloppy and full of errors! Imagine how embarassing that could be! In fact, in this paragraph, there are 3 grammattical errors. Did you spot them?

That’s where I come in, and welcome to my website.

My name is Edwin Egadwa. I am a professional freelance editor and proofreader in Nairobi, Kenya. Like the name of this site suggests, I edit documents and books giving them a clean, error-free and professional finish for print or web publication. Transforming your rough copies into powerful communication tools is what I do best. In other words, I make your wrong writing right.

Documents that I edit include books, manuscripts, e-books, theses, articles, term reports, training and other manuals, marketing materials, e-zines, PowerPoint slides, correspondence, essays, memoirs, and more. My suggestions and edits will enable your product to become more effective in its intended usage and more marketable.

Other services I offer are manuscript assessment, proofreading, speech writing, web content writing and editing and public speaking coaching. View the services page for more details. So when you want your document edited, what do you expect me to work on? Well, my editing involves improving the following elements of your document:

  • Language, grammar and spelling
  • Tone and voice
  • Style, flow and consistency
  • Correctness of facts
  • Readability
  • Sentence structure
  • Appropriateness to the target audience

Be yourself.
Above all,
let who you are,
what you are,
what you believe,
shine through every
sentence you write,
every piece you
finish.
